Australia tasting notes

May 2019

Find our favorite tasted wines in each vineyard. Of course it’s very subjective, and everyone has its own preferences. It also depends on the moment of the day, the food you eat with, the people sharing this special moment and many other things!

St Hallett

Blackwell Shiraz, 2015

We loved this big wine, representative of Barossa style Shiraz with chocolate, plum and spices notes on the nose. It’s full bodied, well balanced with ripe tannins and a dense mouthfeel!

Single Vineyard Series Dawkins Vineyard Eden Valley, 2016

We enjoyed this highly aromatic Shiraz with sage, spearmint and blackberry characters. It has a well-structured palate and good acidity and length!

Dog’s Breakfast, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2009

We appreciatedthe complex aromas of berry fruit, spices and hints of mocha. This well-balanced wine also has a round and soft palate with fine tannins

La Bise

 La Bise, Nero D’Avola, 2017

We really appreciated this sharp Sicilian variety wine with smells of red fruits, white pepper and mint. It also has hints of honey and violets on the back palate which add to the long savory finish.

Rolf Binder

Shiraz, Eden Valley, 2015

This wine has leathery notes and vanillan character from the 22 months in American oak barrels. We also liked its finer tannin structure.

Montepulciano, Eden Valley, 2016

We liked this bright ruby-colored wine with a cherry, blackberry fruit and pepper nose. The palate shows hints of tar and chocolate with a firm and dry finish

GMS (Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz), 2015

We loved this popular Aussie blend with a strong red fruits bouquet including raspberry and cherry. It’s well-balanced with a gentle savoury palate.

The Stranger, 2015 (80% Shiraz and 20% Cabernet).

We also loved this classic Aussie blend with notes of cassis, chocolate and mint. In mouth, we found again this fruity taste with elegant minty chocolate flavors before a persistent finish

Mount Edelstone, Shiraz, 2015

We loved the concentrated flavors of spicy plum, sage, blackberry and pepper of this wine. We enjoyed the fleshy in texture palate with elegant and velvety tannins.

Innes Vineyard, Pinot Gris, 2016

We enjoyed the sweet, exotic fragrance of honeysuckle and stone-fruits coming from the fermentation on lees and giving it complexity. It also has a great weight and depth with a crisp acid and long finish.

We enjoyed this unique sparkling wine with its complex aromas of plum, black cherry, fruit cake and spice. It also has a generous velvety palate of rich fruits and spices but is still very refreshing

The Rifleman, Shiraz, 2016

We enjoyed its intense blackberries, chocolaty aromas with hints of licorice and coconut oak characters. On the palate, we felt intense blackcurrant and chocolate notes and loved its silky tannins

Zonte’s Footstep

Hills are alive, Adelaide Hills, Shiraz, 2017

We loved the lively nose of red cherries with spiced plums and liquorice. It tastes like plums with a hint of white pepper and has soft tannins

Chocolate Factory, McLaren Vale, Shiraz, 2017

This wine is like a black Forest cake in bottle. We appreciated the black cherry and mocha notes and its silky milk chocolate tannins. It also tastes like cedar, cigar box and blackberries.

This wine has a floral nose with sweet perfumed fruit, violet and nutmeg. We really enjoyed the dark sour cherry mushroom on the palate.
